YouTube Short: Handpan Tutorial – “Once Again” by Hang Massive
👋 Introduction
Hi, I’m David from NovaPans Handpans! Today I’m going to teach you the most famous handpan song out there — “Once Again” by Hang Massive. You’ve probably seen this song all over the internet, and I know what you’re thinking — it looks super impressive. Well, personally, I think most people assume it’s super difficult… but really, it’s super easy, and I’m going to show you how!
🎶 Breaking Down the Song
So essentially, I’m using just three notes at a time. Think of them as a triangle on the handpan:
- Triangle 1: I play the 1st, the 5th, and the 2nd note
- Triangle 2: I then play the 1st, the 5th, and the 3rd note
That’s it — just two triangles. You can see those notes right there on the instrument. If you can play them by themselves, that’s already good enough to get started!
🥁 The Rhythm
Now, once you’ve got those notes, here’s the rhythm I use:
- 1 and 5 together → 2, 5, 1
- 2 and 5 together → 1, 5, 2, 1, 2
And then I simply swap the 2nd note for the 3rd — and that’s essentially the whole song!
💡 My Message to You
“It sounds impressive, but trust me — anyone can learn this. Give it a try!”
I hope this breakdown helps you get started on your handpan journey. Stay tuned to NovaPans Handpans for more tutorials like this one! 🙌
